Receptions
At Good Shepherd, we love to celebrate the milestones in our journey of
faith. Whether its a Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, reception
of new members or a funeral, we'll hold reception for you and yours right
after the worship service. Members of the congregation volunteer to organize
the receptions, prepare the food - and even provide the cake!
These receptions mean a lot to people, especially those with family out
of town. If you'd like to be a part of this ministry, indicate your interest
on the blue Faithworks form in Sunday's Yellow Pages and place it in the
Sunday offering, contact Terry Grossman at 786-9670 or stgrossman@charter.net.
Comfort Food
When families are hurting a warm meal is always appreciated. It's our
custom at Good Shepherd to try to feed those rejoicing in the birth of
a new baby, dealing with the loss of a loved one or the stress of surgery,
and those who have lost a job. When you need this support, please contact
any Council member, or call the church office 772-4075 or good.shep-holland@sbcglobal.net.
If you are interested in being a part of this Ministry to prepare and
deliver food, please indicate this on the blue Faith Works form in the
Sunday Yellow Pages.
Lenten Soup Suppers
Connect or reconnect with family and friends and the Christ we share in
over coffee and conversation, by joining us at Corpus Christi, 6:00 pm
every Thursday during Lent, for a casual meal of soup and breads. Lenten
Vespers follow at 7:00 pm around the lilting melodies of Holden Evening
Prayer and devotions that relate to our renewal of faith as we prepare
to celebrate Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Child care will be offered
during evening prayer. Feel free to come to either dinner, Evening Prayer
or both, as your schedule permits.
To take a turn provide soups, vegetable plates or breads, sign up at the
Welcome Center or Fellowship Hall during the weeks preceding Lent.
