Membership
Jesus Christ invited all people to be his friends and join his
mission of humble service and love. Whether you have little or no experience
in the Christian faith or are well-traveled on your journey, it's in the
spirit of Christ that you're invited to consider membership in Good Shepherd.
There are three easy steps:
- Become involved in the life and ministry of Good Shepherd. Join us
in worship, work and play, and get a taste of how life in the Body of
Christ can give new meaning to your life.
- Attend a series of five Orientation Sessions for New Members and
Friends. These sessions are held twice a year, immediately following
Sunday worship. They provide an opportunity to learn to become better
acquainted with Good Shepherd's members, mission and ministry - and
glimpse the Christ we share in word and sacrament, coffee and conversation.
Over coffee and dessert we discuss our understanding of what it means
to be Christians and Lutherans, the unique qualities of our denomination,
the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and how we try to live out
the Good Shepherd's mission and vision.
- Be present for worship on New Member Sunday, when you'll be welcomed
into membership through your Affirmation of Baptism. If you have not
been Baptized contact Pastor Jim to discuss its role in your life.
