Sunday School for Children
Our goal is to help children develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We want them to not only know about Jesus, but to begin to really know Jesus. Sunday School classes meet between Labor Day and Memorial Day from 9:00 - 9:50 am in the D-wing classrooms of the Corpus Christi Center. Visitors and new members are always welcome. Although we have enrollment forms they are not necessary to visit or attend for the first time.
The curriculum for ages 2 through grade 6 is Living the Good News, a lectionary-based program which engages all ages in shared experiences of the Sunday worship readings. Sunday School stories, Pastor's children's message and the readings for worship are based on the same scripture uniting the entire congregation in worship.
The nursery class for ages 2 and 3 introduces the very young to Jesus through engaging stories, songs and games. Designed for active, inquisitive little ones the program includes time for free play allowing interaction and association with other children their own age.
Our preschool/kindergarten class for 4 and 5 year olds involves children both physically and mentally in the learning process. Simple stories and engaging activities, including games, songs and art, tie in with the scripture theme and make learning the Bible lessons as much fun as possible.

The primary class for grades 1 and 2 encourages this inquiring age to explore the Bible lesson. Through games, group play, crafts, song and prayer the children start to discover a lot about themselves, about relationships, about right and wrong.
Intermediate students in grades 3 through 6 are challenged to see the connection between events in the Bible stories and real-life experiences. Activities, games and grafts all foster a connection between their faith and themselves. At this age we introduce Luther's Small Catechism and look at aspects of Lutheran worship including baptism, holy communion, and the Apostle's Creed.
